Potatoes

Now me spuds just aren't chitting very well!!

Not sure what to do or weather or not this is enough.

They have been out in the garage for about 6 weeks and this is as good as they have got although most of what is showing is only in the last few weeks?

Anyone any ideas??

Carrots

So the carrots are doing well. I have put them in a deeper container this year as last year I was little dumpy ones.

The soil has been shaken and broken up so I hope for straight carrots this year! Ha chance would be a fine thing.

But then who said carrots should be straight? The supermarkets??

As you can see I have some new cool tags for my veg this year got from Mosby plants and gifts. Louise has some lovely stuff for gardeners just like me!

Well hopefully be eating some nice carrots soon.

Next week broccoli!

Planting

The potatoes are slowly being chitted, and will be ready for planting.

I've had some caring success with potatoes over the yeas, last years was rubbish but I think this was mainly due to the volume of rain we had!

This is my one major issue with trugs is the drainage is rubbish! An gonna try bags again this year, will see how they go!

Weather

Having looked at the Forecast its look as if it finally warming up which mean that I can start to plant out some of my early stuff.

Once again I will attempt Sweetcorn and asparagus, something I have never managed to get anything from!

Trug garden

Many years ago I had to give up on my allotment it got to far to travel when I moved and was getting neglected due to this!

So what to do, my new house has a nice garden but not bigger enough to start growing veg and I missed my fresh own grown veg. I also have Indie the lovely Airedale who is not a fan of anything staying in the ground!

My solution my trug and container 'veg patch' in an area down the side of the house.

Its been going for two years now but I thought of blogging about it and if I can help other people grow there own great and at the same time hoping people will help me with some of the veg I struggle to grow!

So watch and comment where u see it as I blog about my trugs!!
